Technology at the Mathers Museum


The MMWC is pursuing a comprehensive IT plan that will eventually bring its collections online. Behind the scenes, the museum uses FileMaker Pro.

For "green" open access circulation of museum-related publications the MMWC uses Indiana University Bloomington's IUScholarWorks Repository.

The museum is currently hosting an Indiana University IQ-Wall, developed by the UITS Advanced Visualization Lab to promote innovative research and education using information-rich, ultra-resolution displays.  Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to utilize the device for a wide range of activities including research, teaching, and learning.

Museum Anthropology Review

Museum Anthropology Review (MAR) is an open access journal whose purpose is the wide dissemination of articles, reviews, essays, obituaries and other content advancing the field of material culture and museum studies, broadly conceived. MAR is published by the Mathers Museum of World Cultures, and edited by Jason Baird Jackson.
